Sustainability indexes in water–food–energy nexus to develop strategies with respect to virtual water

Abstract The management of water resources requires a correct understanding the simultaneous food and energy resources. framework water–food–energy correlation with approach sustainability uses analyzes combined exploitation water, food, help scenario planning. In addition to concepts, environmental costs such as emission carbon dioxide from fossil fuels its impact on environment are also discussed. this research, according five defined indicators based potential using solar possibility exploiting renewable sources energy, various scenarios have been developed. After examining virtual model developed in Hunan basin case study, development nexus calibration, four including improving use efficiency, saving, increasing productivity, were results showed that strategy can provide goals weight each component. scenario, efficiency consumption be component highest priority decision-making dry areas.
